Where the method applies
Baselines that survive the change wave
Complex programs change daily: requirements move, suppliers substitute, configurations drift. When the baseline is not protected, no one can say with confidence what was approved, what was built, and what diverged, until an audit or an incident asks.
What changes. Every approved state is recorded, every deviation is visible, and the question "what changed and who approved it" has a documented answer.
Traceability through migrations and handoffs
Data migrations and system transitions lose decisions in the move. The record of why a requirement exists, or which change closed which risk, stays behind in the old system or in someone’s inbox.
What changes. Decision lineage crosses the migration intact, and the receiving team inherits a record it can defend.
Readiness that is tested, not declared
Go-live readiness is often a slide that says ready. The workforce, procedures, and fallback paths have not been exercised against the conditions that will actually occur.
What changes. Readiness becomes an evidenced state: trained people, tested procedures, and a rollback that has been rehearsed.
Boundary: engagements are stated categorically; consultant roles and availability are confirmed per engagement.
